Blueberry Farm is a purpose built, state of the art equine hospital in Warfield, Berkshire. It has been awarded the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons’ highest accreditation (Tier 3) in recognition of its outstanding facilities and excellent standard of veterinary care. The team is led by Dr Sarah Randall.
Lameness evaluation is performed using our hard and soft lunge areas, large outdoor school and purpose built diagnostic room. These facilities complement our imaging services, which include MRI, digital radiography and ultrasonography.
We also undertake investigation of poor performance and medical conditions, frequently using endoscopy, gastroscopy and ultrasonography. Our on site laboratory allows us to analyse blood, faecal and urine samples quickly and efficiently. It also provides the facilities to prepare novel therapies such as IRAP and PRP.
The purpose built surgical theatre with separate induction box allows us to perform both routine and emergency surgeries under general anaesthesia. We also perform standing surgeries under sedation and local anaesthesia, using the stocks in our fully equipped examination room. This includes laser surgery, which is frequently used for removal of sarcoids.
Our on-site accommodation allows us to provide round the clock veterinary and nursing care to our in-patients. This includes monitoring of mares at foaling time, should you wish to board your mare with us for foaling. We have 16 stables, including isolation facilities.
In addition to using the excellent clinic facilities, the vets at Blueberry Farm also provide a full ambulatory service. Mobile facilities include digital radiography, ultrasonography, portable endoscopy, shock wave therapy and category IV laser therapy.
