The Brooke is an international animal welfare organisation dedicated to improving the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules in the poorest parts of the world. They provide free veterinary treatment and community programmes in eleven countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America. These include Afghanistan, Nepal, Pakistan, India, Jordan, the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Senegal and Guatemala. In 2010, they reached 800,000 animals, benefiting more than four million of the world’s poorest people.
