Here at Chiltern Equine Clinic we recognise that keeping horses fit, happy and healthy is a team effort. We frequently work alongside equine physiotherapists, massage therapists, osteopaths and chiropractors etc to ensure your horse receives the best possible care.
We welcome friendly, open communication between practitioners and appreciate the opportunity to discuss your horses with therapists both before and after treatment so that we can work together. In fact, in the eyes of the law, any treatment of an animal is considered an act of veterinary surgery. The Veterinary Surgeons (Exemptions) Order 2015 permits ‘physiotherapy’ (which includes osteopathy and chiropractic treatment) to be performed by non veterinary practitioners as long as the horse has been examined by a vet and that physiotherapy (or other manipulative therapies) has been recommended. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
