Chiltern Equine Clinic provides the latest in mobile digital radiographic and ultrasonographic equipment allowing assessment of bone and soft tissue injuries in the field. This is particularly useful in certain emergency situations where it is considered “unsafe” to travel a horse prior to imaging. Our systems allow us to obtain images of high diagnostic quality on site. Although lameness investigations take place in the clinic, our mobile imaging units enable follow up assessments to be performed on the yard.
Radiography is the imaging modality most commonly used to assess the bones of the skeleton while ultrasound examination allows us to investigate orthopaedic disease(tendon/ligament strains), abdominal disease, thoracic disease and reproductive disease(ovarian and uterine problems) as well as assisting with breeding of mares.
